Catherine Albert, CEO & President

In 2000 Catherine Albert founded Calypso, bringing with her more than 20 years of health insurance experience. Since that time, she has served as Calypso’s Chief Executive Officer and President. Upon her arrival at Premera in 1996, Catherine has led the successful development and implementation of a centralized Investigation and Recovery department. She has also directed Premera's Medicare Part A program, Corporate Audit, and Claims Operations for LifeWise, Premera's Oregon-based subsidiary. From 1989 through 1995 Catherine was a Director with Wellpoint's California Operation. While there, she led the development and implementation of Wellpoint's Investigation and Recovery Department, as well as directing Group Operations. Catherine received her BS in Business Administration from the University of Redlands.

Julie Keeffe, Senior Internal Consultant

Julie joined Calypso in 2007, bringing over 20 years of experience in healthcare management and health plan operations. Her background includes claims systems administration, provider contracting and negotiations, and new product development for health plans with Commercial, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Self-Insured products. Prior to Calypso, Julie held positions as Vice President of Network Management at UnitedHealthcare, Senior Vice President of Medical Management and Health Plan Operations at First Choice Health, Inc., and Healthcare Management Consultant at Milliman, Inc. She holds a degree in nursing from Yakima Valley College.

Janis Sandhop, Manager of Recovery Operations

With more than 25 years of operations experience in the health insurance industry, Janis joined Calypso in 2000. Previously, she managed the operations of NorthStar Administrators, a northwest TPA. From 1983 to 1997, Janis worked for Premera Blue Cross, where she managed several departments, including customer service, membership and billing, and claims processing for consumer, large group, small group and self-funded plans. Additionally, she has managed areas responsible for reinsurance and COBRA administration. Janis graduated from Central Washington University in 1983 with a degree in management and a minor in economics.

Jessica Grassman, Implementation Manager

Jessica brings a diverse array of experience in business management and IT consulting, specializing in the areas of project management, training and change management for large scale systems implementations. Previously, she worked for Capgemini Consulting, where her most recent clients included Microsoft, TXU Corp., and ING. Jessica received both her BA and MA in English Literature from John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH.
